Since theymarried 10 years ago, Michael James Knapp and his wife Amber have celebrated every anniversary the same way. Michael J Knapp, Amber and their two children go back to the same field where they were married and enjoy a picnic lunch of sandwiches on baguettes, fruit, cheese and Michael James Knapp and Amber's favorite French wine. When it's time to leave, Michael J Knapp and the children pick Amber a replica bouquet of the wildflowers she carried 10 years ago.

Ten years ago, Michael James Knapp married his wife Amber in a ceremony that was unique as the couple themselves.

 
Just days after Michael J. Knapp proposed to Amber Riley, the couple started planning. They immediately knew they didn't want a traditional, ceremony complete with tuxedos and a big, poofy white dress. Instead, the couple planned a simple ceremony in a field of wildflowers performed by Amber's uncle.

Amber Riley wore a simple butter yellow sundress with a halo of flowers around her head and carried a bouquet of freshly picked wildflowers. Michael James Knapp wore a pair of khaki pants and an untucked white button down shirt.

The couple chose to write their own vows and spoke from the heart. They promised to always love each other and pledged they would take care of each other for their rest of their lives. After the vows, the couple performed a sand ceremony, where they poured sand from two separate vases into one, symbolizing the union of Amber Riley and Michael J. Knapp into one family. Once the sand ceremony was over, the couple took part in a handfasting ceremony, paying homage to Amber's Scottish heritage.

The couple did take part in one traditional aspect - the rings. Amber and Michael James Knapp exchanged simple bands of white gold, engraved with the simple message 'Love Always.'

The ceremony was small and intimate with only 15 guests. Afterwards, the couple celebrated with dinner with their guests at their favorite French restaurant, Cafe Rouge.
